Pre-plant or pre-emergent burndown - corn

Eragon LQ at 146 - 292 ml/ha may be tank mixed with glyphosate and applied to corn prior to planting or after planting prior to crop emergence. Use 292 ml/ha for extended residual control of continual flushing weeds such as lamb’s-quarters, redroot pigweed and common ragweed.

Eragon LQ plus glyphosate will provide control (burndown) of the following emerged broadleaf weeds in addition to those controlled by glyphosate.

Application Tips

Eragon LQ is rainfast and will be limited by the type of glyphosate used. Follow the glyphosate manufacturer’s recommendation for rainfast guidelines.

Pre-plant/Pre-emergence

  • Always add Merge® adjuvant.
  • Use a water volume of 40 - 80 L/ac (10 - 20 gal/ac).
  • If weeds are large or densities are high, use a higher water volume of 80 L/ac (20 gal/ac).
  •  Ground application only.

Harvest aid and desiccant

  • Use a water volume of 80 L/ac (20 gal/ac).
  • Ground application only.

Pre-harvest weed management in cereals

  • Use a water volume of 40 - 80 L/ac (10 - 20 gal/ac).
  • Ground application only.

When to Apply

Pre-plant/Pre-emergence

  • Barley
  • Corn (field, sweet)
  • Soybeans
  • Wheat (spring, winter, durum)
  • Oats

Crops

Staging

Dry Beans1

Apply when 90% of the pods have changed colour from green to yellow and/or light brown. 80% - 90% of the original leaves have dropped. The stems are green to brown in colour. The pods on the lower canopy mature first, so the few remaining green pods will only be located in the top of the canopy.

Soybeans

Apply when 90% of the pods have changed colour, with the lower pods essentially being all brown and the upper pods being a yellowish-brown or grey in some varieties. At this point 80% of the leaves should have dropped with the remaining leaves being yellow.

1 When tank mixed with glyphosate, consult glyphosate label or your BASF Sales Representative for information regarding use on specific varieties of dry beans

1 Do not use rates higher than 73 ml/ha or crop injury may result. For use in combination with glyphosate for pre-plant application only. Refer to the Crop Specific Recommendations section of the label for additional details. Some soybeans cultivars may be more sensitive to saflufenacil and injury might occur.
2 146 ml/ha will only provide short season weed control and should be used in a program where a later application of a herbicide is anticipated. Refer to the Crop Specific Recommendations section of the label for additional details. Some sweet corn hybrids may be more sensitive to saflufenacil and injury might occur.
3 Glyphosate (required for optimum activity) is not included in the case.
4 Merge adjuvant is required and is not included with Eragon LQ herbicide.
