Saskatchewan grower rides off with a one-year lease on a RoGator from BASF and AGCO

Mossbank, SK, September 22, 2011 – What started out as just another day in the field for Julie and Darren Gosling from Mossbank, Saskatchewan ended with one big thrill.

Throughout the summer, BASF held a contest across western Canada to give growers a chance to win a one-year lease on an AGCO 1194 Self-Propelled RoGator® Sprayer and a case of BASF’s innovative Heat herbicide. The Goslings were chosen over 1,500 entries and a group of AGCO and BASF representatives, including BASF Brand Manager for Western Herbicides, Joel Johnson, surprised them at home with the news of their big win.

“This couldn’t possibly happen at a better time,” said Julie Gosling after being handed the keys to her RoGator. “We were just looking at upgrading our sprayer. What a complete surprise. Thank you very much BASF and AGCO.”

The Goslings manage a large farming operation of canola, lentils, peas, barley and wheat. Julie Gosling also owns Skates 'N Skirts Sport Co in Mossbank. As the winners, the Goslings get to use a high-clearance RoGator sprayer for one year or 200 hours, in addition to winning enough Heat herbicide from BASF to treat 640 acres.

BASF recommends Heat for the fastest pre-seed and pre-emerge burndown of the broadest weed spectrum and as a resistance management tool for growers.

“We’re excited to team up with AGCO to make this prize package available to the Gosling family,” says Johnson. “Heat herbicide is our most recent innovation and the RoGator is a top-of-the-line sprayer. Together, these innovative new products make a pretty powerful team.”
