Take your best shot at white mold.
Before it takes one at you.
Later in the season when cool, wet weather prevails is when white mold can hit your crop hardest. It infects susceptible soybean varieties at the flowering stage. Several consecutive days of moist conditions at the bottom of the canopy create prime conditions for spores to develop. The result is stem girdling and crop tissue death above the lesion.
Keep one eye on your crop. And one hand on your fungicide.
Because fungicides work best when used preventatively, the best results come from applying at early flower to full bloom (late R1 to R2). Choose a fungicide that provides protection against white mold along with other diseases that may have a history in your field, such as septoria brown spot. If conditions are favourable for disease, follow up with a second pass 10 to 14 days later (up until R3) using a different mode of action.
By combining two leading active ingredients that target white mold, Cotegra® fungicide delivers best-in-class performance to help preserve yield potential and maximize returns. It’s also designed to protect soybeans from key foliar diseases, including septoria brown spot. Benefit from its convenient liquid formulation.
Next up: Insect Management
Soybeans can be a particulary vulnerable crop, facing numerous challenges from weeds, to disease, to parasitic insects. Unlike herbicides and fungicides, insecticides are not recommended for preventative treatment. Of course, it is always important to understand any potential pest problems you may have and act quickly at the first sign of issues.
