How it Works

  • Nodulator FB Self-adhering Peat inoculant contains Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar viceae, a natural microorganism that is beneficial to plants.
  • The rhizobia help to increase nodulation resulting in increased fixation of nitrogen for higher yield and protein potential.
  • This product is guaranteed to contain a minimum of 1 x 109 viable cells of Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar viceae per gram.

Application Tips

  • Store this product below 20°C (70°F) and away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep inoculant and inoculated seed in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and sow as soon as possible.
  • Do not use inoculant that has passed its expiration date or that has not been correctly stored.
  • It is recommended to sow seeds within 4 to 6 hours of inoculation. If not sown within 24 hours, seed must be re-inoculated.
  • If seed is of low moisture content, it is recommended to use either slurry or damp application methods.

Seed Treatment Compatibility

This inoculant is compatible with most seed treatments when dry. This inoculant can also be applied to specific treated seed when wet (contact your dealer/manufacturer for details). Please observe planting window recommendations for optimal responses.

When to Apply

For optimal results the product should be applied on seed and seed should be sown within 4 to 6 hours of application.

If inoculated seeds are not sown within 24 hours, re-inoculation is recommended.

How Much to Apply

One case contains five, 1.2 kg packages, enough to treat 180 bushels of seed.

Apply at a rate of 1.2 kg (42 oz.) per 982 kg (36 bushels) of seed.

After opening pack, work gently between fingers to disperse contents. The addition of water at the time of application will improve the activity of the integral sticker, resulting in even seed coverage with the inoculant.

Apply in a slurry or as a damp or dry inoculation.

Directions for use

  1. SLURRY APPLICATION: Add complete pack contents to approximately 2 litres (68 fl. oz.) of clean, dechlorinated water and stir well in a clean container to form a lump-free slurry. Not allowing slurry to settle out, pour onto the seed and mix thoroughly to ensure the seeds are evenly coated. Allow seed to dry before further handling.
  2. DAMP INOCULATION: Apply just enough water to slightly dampen seed (2 ml/kg or 1.5 fl. oz./50 lb.). Mix the damp seed thoroughly with the inoculant so that they are evenly coated.
  3. DRY INOCULATION: Pour the correct amount of inoculant onto thin layers of seed in the drill hopper and mix thoroughly to evenly coat seed. For bulk seed handling systems, the inoculant can be metered directly onto augured seed.
